Carpenters work on project sites located throughout the state of Kansas, paying up to $35.
00/hour.
This position starts as a temporary, non-signatory position.
Effective May 1, 2023 Carpenters (Craft Associates) will have immediate health, dental, and vision benefits.
Once the 260-hour service requirement has been met and performance evaluation approved, all additional benefits (PTO/Sick Leave) will be available.

General Tasks Include:
Maintains all safety standards and identifies, reports or corrects potential hazards associated with task assignments to maintain a safe work area
Builds stairs and installs partitions
Installs window frames, doors, doorframes, weather stripping, and basic hardware (interior and exterior)
Installs cabinets and molding
Erects and works on scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
Operates hand and power tools, including chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures
Operates small machinery, as needed
Works with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass or drywall
Joins materials with nails, screws, staples, adhesives, and other applicable tools

Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to work safely on projects.
Ability to follow directions and ask for guidance with daily tasks.
Ability to perform construction activities, including operation of various power tools/small machinery.
Experience with rough and finish carpentry: blocking, frames/doors and hardware, millwork and casework.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contract documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and blueprints/plans.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to do basic construction math, including measuring, transposing, calculating cut lengths and basic volumes.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
Ability to provide reliable transportation method to get to and from project sites.
Commitment to a reliable work ethic to meet daily project needs.
Must maintain excellent punctual attendance throughout project duration.
Must pass background, drug screen, physical testing and must be authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Demands Carpenters are frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
Carpenters are frequently required to climb or balance and stoop or kneel.
Carpenters regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions Carpenters regularly work in outside weather conditions throughout the year.
Carpenters frequently work near moving equipment.
Carpenters occasionally work in elevated conditions and are exposed to wet and/or humid and dusty conditions.
