POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides basic life support care and evaluation of patients on scene and during transport to medical facilities.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent (required)
Associate Degree (preferred)
National Registry (preferred)
BLS Healthcare Provider course completion card from the American Heart Association is required within 45 days of hire or job transfer date
Driver License from the state of Kansas or Valid Driver's License (required)
Haz Waste Ops Em Resp Cert - Hazardous Materials Awareness Level training required within 1 year of hire (preferred)
Licensed as an EMT by the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services (KSBEMS) required
Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) certification, or equivalent required within 12 months of hire

Must have and maintain a clean driving record for this position.
A “clean” record is defined as: No misdemeanor or felony convictions for traffic/vehicular offenses (such as but not limited to DUI, vehicular homicide, reckless driving, hit and run, etc.
) that are less than five (5) years old; no more than two (2) at fault or chargeable accidents that are less than five (5) years old; no more than two (2) traffic infractions (such as but not limited to speeding, failure to yield right of way, etc.
) that are less than one year old.
