Oak Grove School is looking for an Early Childhood Director to lead our school.
We are a private, secular, nonprofit, parent-run co-operative educational facility, registered as both a child care center and private school with the State of Kansas.
An ideal candidate is someone who loves working with children, is energetic, and has experience working in a child care center or preschool.
They should uphold the vision of our school with pride and ensure that our students and facility meets the relevant standards set by the state.
*Director Duties/Responsibilities*
*Planning and Directing*
-Develop & implement preschool programs, oversee all day-to-day activities
-Designing developmentally appropriate curriculum and lesson plans
-Designing policies, forms, and procedures
-Maintain licensing from KDHE
-Lead development staff with fundraising, grant writing, and marketing.
-Promote the preschool and other early childhood programs
*Teaching/Evaluating*
-Serve as Substitute/Lead Teacher for all children enrolled in school.
-Asses programs based on current research and developmentally appropriate practices
-Improve and expand the selection of programs and experiences for young children and their families.
-Assure compliance with all relevant governmental regulations.
-Schedule and lead professional development workshops or in-service for staff.
*Supervising*
-Hire, train, direct, schedule, supervise, and evaluate an Lead and Assistant Teachers.
-Develop student teaching opportunities and work study for early childhood education students.
*Creating Community*
-Ensure that parents are informed and involved with their children’s experiences and progress at OGS.
-Develop relationships with other preschools, Head Start, community and professional organizations, colleges, and donors to increase opportunities for young children and families to connect to nature
-Promote the importance of early childhood education to parents, caregivers, teachers, through workshops, seminars, magazine articles, and interviews
-Participate in staff meetings and special events as appropriate to ensure connection with the rest of the staff and member.
*Director Qualifications:*
A program director needs to meet the training requirements by one of the following options:
(1) B.
S.
degree in child development or early childhood education, including a supervised practicum; and three months' teaching experience in licensed centers or preschools;
*or*
(2) B.
S.
degree in a related academic discipline, and 12 hours of academic study or equivalent training in child development, early childhood education, curriculum resources, nutrition, child guidance, parent education, supervised practicum, and administration of early childhood programs; and six months teaching experience in licensed centers or preschools.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $37,000.
